The Prince and Princess of Wales’s frosty relationship with Harry and Meghan seemed to thaw following Kate’s cancer diagnosis, after it was reported the Sussexes reached out upon learning the news.
In addition, both Meghan and Harry issued a statement hours after Kate’s announcement on Friday. It read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

According to the outlet, sources close to William and Kate claim that with both Kate and King Charles III battling cancer, their “Harry problem” is the last thing on their minds. A royal source told the newspaper that William “has always done all he can to protect his family,” to ensure Kate’s privacy and protect that of their three children.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with William and Kate has been famously estranged since their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview and the release of Harry’s autobiography spare, which saw him not hold back when it came to his brother and sister-in-law.
Kate announced she had cancer in a filmed address, which was shot in the grounds of Windsor. In the poignant video, she said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.”
She continued: “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” Kate continued, “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
On Saturday, Kensington Palace released a statement, which read: “The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the U.K., across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message.”
