‘She feels not wanted’: Meghan Markle still unsure about returning to the United Kingdom despite Prince Harry’s pleas
Meghan Markle is reportedly having second thoughts about joining Prince Harry in the United Kingdom next month over security concerns, but the Duchess may have other reasons for avoiding her former adopted home.
‘Doesn’t feel safe’: Meghan Markle having second thoughts over UK return
Meghan Markle is understood to be reluctant to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the United Kingdom next month because she is worried about her children’s safety.
“It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe,” a source told OK! magazine on Monday.
“The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone.”
The Sussexes have repeatedly voiced concerns about their personal safety after the British government opted to strip the couple of their taxpayer-funded security detail when they ceased to be working royals in 2020.

Harry was publicly outraged by the decision and has battled the Home Office in court for the past four years to have the subsidised security detail reinstated.
In a statement to the court, Harry argued that his wife and children were not safe returning to Britain without private security.
“The UK is my home. It was with great sadness to both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020,” Harry said in the witness statement in December.
Harry also wrote in his memoir Spare that he blamed the car crash death of his mother Princess Diana in 1997 on invasive paparazzi that he believes “dazzled” driver Henri Paul into colliding with a pillar.

Despite voicing his concerns to the court, Harry is believed to be pushing for his family to join him in London next month when he marks the tenth anniversary of his signature Invictus Games organisation.
“Harry doesn’t want to keep making solo trips to the UK,” the same source revealed.
“He would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn’t possible at the moment.
“Both Harry and Meghan were planning to come to the UK, but when the exact time and date of their appearance were made public, she started to rethink that idea.”
However, another unnamed source said beneath the surface of Meghan’s security concerns the Duchess has another reason for not wanting to return to London.

“She feels like she’s not wanted,” the insider told New magazine.
The update comes after another source close to the Sussexes revealed that Prince Harry “would love” for his children to have a better relationship with their royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
“Harry would love for Archie and Lilibet to have a better relationship with their cousins or even the children of some of his friends,” the source told the Daily Express.
“He feels like they have been away from the UK for far too long and wants to start building a life here. Not full-time, but a second home they can visit regularly.”
