King Charles unlikely to welcome Harry back as part-time Royal, expert warns

Harry’s return as working Royal off the table.

In a recent episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, esteemed royal reporter Richard Palmer made it clear that King Charles is not likely to allow Prince Harry to return as a part-time royal.

According to Palmer, repairing the fractured bond with Prince William will be a “big job” for Harry.

British Prince Harry and his father, King Charles III.

Palmer emphasized that Harry, 39, will not be accepted back as a part-time working royal, despite any potential efforts from him and Meghan, 42, to “push it.” He stated, “I just can’t see it happening. I just don’t think it’s on the cards.”

While King Charles may be open to reconciliation, Palmer believes that the decision made at the Sandringham Summit will be upheld. “The King I think is open to reconciliation but I don’t think he’s open to the idea of Harry being a part-time working royal,” Palmer explained.
Palmer also revealed insights from a senior royal aide who was close to the now King at the time of the Sandringham Summit. This aide had initially indicated that the idea of Harry returning as a part-time working royal was entirely possible.

Harry and William’s once-close bond continues to fracture
However, the Queen, encouraged by Charles and Prince William, ultimately decided against it. “They were open to discussions but something changed and the Queen, encouraged by Charles and Prince William, essentially said ‘no, we can’t countenance this, there’s no way back, they’re either in or they’re out’,” Palmer shared.

The strained relationship between Harry and William has been a cause of heartbreak for many experts, given their once incredibly close bond. Charles Rae, another commentator on The Royal Exclusive show, highlighted how Harry used to be in line to act as Prince William’s top advisor. The breakdown of their relationship is particularly poignant given their shared history.

Richard Palmer’s insights on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show shed light on the unlikelihood of Harry returning as a part-time royal and the significant challenge he faces in repairing his relationship with Prince William. The comments from Palmer and Rae provide valuable perspectives on the complex dynamics within the royal family.
