Prince Harry will be in the UK next month, May 8, to host the Invictus Games 10-Year Anniversary reception at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, which is also where his parents were married.
Newsweek’s James Crawford-Smith says: “The location of the service holds particularly personal associations for Harry, as it was at St Paul’s Cathedral over four decades ago that his parents, King Charles III and Princess Diana were married, on July 29, 1981.”
In his book Spare, Harry talked about how certain places can trigger memories, for exmple Westminster Abbey, becaues that’s where Prince Diana’s funeral was held.
The Duke returning to St Paul’s Cathedral may conjour memories of his mother, suggests Crawford-Smith, saying the location has a “poignant association.”
Harry thinks about his mother on a regular basis, which he has discussed openly, but some memories may be stronger than others, like walking into St Paul’s Cathedral, knowing his mother stood in the same spot.
