Meghan Markle’s claim about UK life that Kate Middleton seems to prove wrong
Meghan Markle has claimed that she would never be able to do the school run in the UK without it being a ‘royal photo call’ – but Kate Middleton seems to prove her wrong.

Meghan Markle has made a surprising claim about life in the UK, which seems to be contradicted by Kate Middleton’s experiences. After stepping back from royal duties, Meghan and Prince Harry have settled in Montecito with their two young children.
This year, their son Archie will begin school for the first time – an event that Meghan suggests would have been problematic if they had stayed in the UK.
In August 2022, Meghan invited The Cut into her home for an interview, during which she discussed their American lifestyle.
Features writer Allison P. Davies quoted Meghan as saying: “Earlier in our conversation about her goals for the life she’s creating here, she’d remarked upon how, if Archie were in school in the UK, she’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.”
“‘Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,’ Meghan says.”, reports the Mirror.
However, royal enthusiasts have pointed out that Meghan’s remarks seem to clash with the frequent school runs undertaken by William and Kate.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are known to drop off and pick up George, Charlotte, and Louis whenever their schedules and health permit, and other parents have described them as ”like a normal mum and dad” at Lambrook events.
Princess Kate has temporarily withdrawn from royal duties as she undergoes treatment for cancer, focusing on recovery and spending quality time with her young children since revealing her health status earlier this year.

Hello! magazine reports that both Kate and William, aged 41, actively participate in all school events and even ‘queued up’ ”for the tombola” during a fundraising initiative. Insiders revealed in January that the day following Kate’s carol service at Westminster Abbey, they attended the school Christmas fair just like the previous year.
”I saw them queueing up for tombola tickets like everyone else. They truly behave like any normal mum and dad,” an insider commented at the time.
George, ten, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, are in Years Six, Four and One respectively at their Berkshire prep school. “They’re delightful kids,” the source added.

“Charlotte is incredibly kind and friendly, and she’s adored by the other children. She’s generous to the younger pupils and she’s very popular. George appears to be a nice lad as well, and little Louis is full of energy.
“If William and Kate are ever unable to attend a sports match, their nanny steps in and spends most of the time chasing after Louis around the edge of the pitch. He’s a typical lively five year old.”
