A royal insider has warned Prince Harry may receive a hostile reception from the British public when he returns to London within days for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry to attend Invictus Games alone during UK visit
Prince Harry could receive a frosty reception from the British public when he touches down in London within days for the upcoming Invictus Games celebrations next week.
Harry is returning to the United Kingdom to mark the tenth anniversary of his signature Invictus Games foundation with a service at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.
The 39-year-old Prince helped set up the organisation in 2014 as an Olympics-style international sporting event for injured and wounded service men and women across the globe.
The event will mark the first time the Duke of Sussex has visited St Paul’s since Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in June 2022 when Harry and his wife Meghan were booed by hecklers on the church steps.

Paul Burrell served as Diana’s butler and confidante for a decade from 1987 until her death in August 1997 before becoming one of the UK’s best known royal commentators.
The former Buckingham Palace insider believes Harry is still at risk of being heckled outside the cathedral.
“He is returning to St Paul’s Cathedral, where he was last booed,” Mr Burrell told SkyNews.com.au on behalf of Slingo on Thursday.
“The public are still in the same frame of mind he may well get booed again.”

Mr Burrell said the British public were still “unhappy” with the Sussexes following their decision to publicly slam the monarchy in their joint Oprah interview, Netflix series and Harry’s memoir Spare.
“They don’t have a place or a purpose here, after all, Harry is now a resident of the US, so he is almost American,” he said.
I think the public are unhappy with how things have turned out, and I’m sure the King and Queen aren’t either.”
Mr Burrell also questioned Harry’s decision to return to London for just “24 to 48 hours” despite the Duke of Sussex’s wishes to repair relations with his father King Charles and brother Prince William.

“As usual, it will be a 24 to 48-hour whirlwind trip into the country and out again,” he said.
“During that time, I’m sure Harry feels he is still a part of the fabric of the family and his country. Somebody should take him to one side and talk to him and say you are not.
“He is coming for a great cause but that doesn’t bring him closer to the heart of the people in this country.”
