King Charles ‘would like to see his son’ Prince Harry – but on one condition
Prince Harry is due to return to the UK to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games, and an expert has claimed that King Charles ‘would like to see his son’ while he is in the country – but on one strict condition
The last time Prince Harry came back to the UK it was a whistlestop visit to check in with King Charles, after the monarch had been diagnosed with cancer and begun treatment. Due to the last-minute nature of the trip, Harry and Charles managed to find less than an hour to spend together, before the King had to travel to Sandringham to rest.
In a major boost to the monarchy, King Charles has progressed so well in his treatment that his doctors have advised he is able to take back on some public-facing royal duties, which Charles kicked off this week in a moving engagement at University College Hospital Macmillan Centre.
Harry is returning to the UK for a more celebratory trip this time around and will be attending a special service at St. Paul’s Cathedral marking the 10-year anniversary of the Invictus Games. One royal expert has claimed that they are sure that King Charles “would like to see his son” while Harry is back, but that there may be one strict condition imposed.
Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, says that King Charles definitely “would like to see his son” but it may depend on where Harry stays while he is in London.
If Harry stays in a royal residence, he will have the security protection he so desires,” explained the expert. “If there is a spare bed it would allow him to see his father privately. That way Harry would be less likely to use it as a PR opportunity. The King has business at Buckingham Palace including his weekly session with the Prime Minister and he would like to see his son.”
Last year, Harry and Meghan were asked to hand back the keys to their UK residence of Frogmore Cottage, which was given to them by the late Queen Elizabeth after their marriage. Now without a place to call home in the UK, Harry has reportedly been staying in hotels when he has visited his home country.

Seward noted that this visit to the UK is also likely to be a relatively short one, because “Monday is Prince Archie’s fifth birthday and Harry would never leave before that as he has placed such importance on being there in the past.”
After his trip to the UK, which he is expected to embark upon solo without his wife Meghan, he and the Duchess of Sussex will both be travelling to Nigeria, on the invitation of the Chief of Defence Staff of the country.
