The Rock’s Heel turn & WWE’s benefits
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that The Rock’s unexpected heel turn has been a blessing for the company. It is reported that WWE officials believe that Rock could probably be working with the company more after WrestleMania to get a match against Roman Reigns later.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported,
“WWE views the fan revolt that led to The Rock’s heel turn as ‘a blessing in disguise’. That’s because officials at the company now believe Dwayne Johnson will probably do more with them after WrestleMania than he would have otherwise ‘because he can get to Reigns later rather than just do that match.’” [h/t Cageside Seats]
The Great One has been a show stealer, who has been giving sold out shows for his appearances in the SmackDown brand and making history. Rock staying in the company for a long time could take the stakes to a whole new level. Rock being a heel could now roast their stars and fans with whatever they want and could use his Board member power to make some interesting decisions as the heel.
