Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William have been moved by the widespread messages of support they have received since the princess revealed her cancer diagnosis, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said Saturday.
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” the statement said.
“They are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”
Middleton, 42, announced she has been diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment in a video statement Friday.
The shocking news came after a three month public absence by the princess following her “major abdominal surgery” in January.
World leaders, celebrities and regular people almost immediately showered Middleton and Prince William with heartwarming well wishes in her health battle.
President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden said they would be praying for her recovery,
“You are brave, and we love you,” Jill Biden posted on X.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle also offered their love to Kate and Harry’s family.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” The Duke and Duchess said in a statement.
