Lorraine Kelly had a straightforward response to Prince Harry’s official registration as a US resident. In her conversation with Royal editor Russell Myers, Kelly highlighted that irrespective of speculation around Harry severing ties with the UK, his permanent home is now stateside.
The host of ITV morning show Lorraine, 64, pointed out pragmatically: “Prince Harry making a lot of the front pages this morning after officially registering himself as an American resident. Well, that’s where he lives.”
Joining the discussion, Myers noted, “Never a dull moment, first we had Meghan launching her jam range during the week and then we had Harry back to work as it were, on a Zoom call for his company Travalyst, a sustainable travel company he’s set up in 2019.”
He revealed that Harry had updated his company details from the UK to the US. Myers then briefed Kelly on the significance of this event, particularly highlighting its timing, reports the Mirror.
Royal expert Russell Myers has weighed in on Prince Harry’s apparent claim of being a US resident since June 29, 2023. Myers suggested this could be an indication that Harry has no plans to return to the UK, stating: “The date of the 29th of June (2023) where he says he took up residency in the US is when he was pretty much asked to leave his Frogmore Cottage house along with Meghan and the family. Is this the clearest indication that Harry won’t be coming back to the UK in any form? Very interesting situation.”
Lorraine Kelly questioned whether Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, would hold dual citizenship. Russell responded, “Well he might well do because he was discussing on an American chat show recently about how he’s considered taking citizenship.”
Despite this, Russell believes Harry could still visit the UK in the future. He concluded: “He said he’s very happy in the States, why wouldn’t he be? Beautiful weather in California, Meghan’s businesses are hopefully going from strength to strength and we’ve got Harry working with Netflix and his travel company. So, listen, I think we might see him back in the future but never say never.”
