Meghan Markle and Prince Harry haven’t quit the UK yet as couple makes major move

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hinted at maintaining ties with the United Kingdom by hiring a key staff member based in the country.

Four years after stepping away from the Royal Family, straining relations with The Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed a new UK-based communications executive to their team.

The office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has added Charlie Gipson as a Communications Executive to its ranks. In his capacity as Director of Communications, Charlie will serve as the primary liaison for UK press.

Also joining the Sussex Team is Kyle Boulia, serving as Deputy Press Secretary and Director of Communications for US media, reports the Mirror.

Kyle and Charlie are part of the broader team that includes former director of global communications Miranda Barbot who now serves as vice president of programs and media operations.
Overseeing all communications for Harry, Meghan, and their organisation Archewell, is Ashley Hansen who holds the position of Head of Communications.

This move reinforces the connections between Harry and Meghan and the UK following open declarations by Prince Harry about his wish to return to the UK. During a recent guest appearance on Good Morning America, he remarked: “My family and my life in California is as it is.”

“I have got other trips planned. That would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”

Harry previously returned to the UK to visit King Charles after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer. Harry is scheduled to return once again next month for a celebration of the Invictus Games.

A special service will held in St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the sporting event, which was set up by Harry in 2014. The Duke of Sussex is believed to be delivering a speech at the event.

It’s currently unclear if he will be joined by his wife.
