Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly found out about Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis via television, it has been claimed.

The couple, who are no longer senior royals, apparently weren’t told about Kate’s health before her video message was broadcast – one royal expert claimed this was due to a lack of trust in the couple.

“Several sources confirm that there were no such conversations and it is thought Harry found out about Kate’s diagnosis from television, at the same time as the public,” The Times reported.

After Kate’s announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quickly sent a short, kind message of support. It read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

He added: “The gravity of this situation may be so large that it could melt away long-held grievances. Yes, Meghan and Harry have their faults but, family is family. Their feud could very well end immediately.”

Prince Harry and Meghan have been in touch with William and Kate after finding out about Kate’s health news, ITV’s Chris Ship reported.

Chris Ship shared on social media: “Prince Harry has reached out to his brother, Prince William after learning of Kate’s cancer.

“Harry and Meghan have both been in touch with their brother/sister-in-law but did so privately. It is not clear if that was a phone/video call or some messages of support.”

Kensington Palace released a statement on Saturday expressing gratitude from William and Kate for the public’s kind thoughts.

The palace’s message said: “The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world.”
