Meghan Markle was filmed seemingly refusing to let a woman stand next to Prince Harry for a picture to celebrate his polo team’s recent win.
In footage circulating on social media, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, scoots closer to her husband’s side on stage at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Fla., Friday, as another woman attempted to get beside the duke. They were posing for a photo-op following the Royal Salute Polo Challenge.
Markle stood her ground as an unidentified woman, whom like the “Suits” alum was in a cream-colored dress, did not budge. The duchess was heard asking, “Do you want to come over here?”
Markle then smiled while motioning for the woman to stand on her left side instead, as someone else in the video again suggested, “Come over here.”
The woman proceeded to duck under the championship trophy and settled in a spot next to the duchess.
One person said of Markle in a video of the incident, “She seems insecure regarding her husband. That’s why she keeps clinging on him and any woman who [stands] beside him is told to stand beside her.”
Another added, “Meghan’s controlling personality on display for the world to see. So lacking in grace and generous spirit. She has included herself in Harry’s team’s win. Mortifying.”
Last year, sources denied Markle and Harry — who wed in 2018 — were having trouble in paradise amid rumblings about their marriage. However, a naysayer later said they would only last a few more years.
The latest uncomfortable situation, though, comes moments after Markle kissed Harry, 39, when presenting him with the trophy and posing with the team for a picture.
The pair appeared in good spirits the entire day, as they were photographed arriving at the charity event together hand-in-hand.
The polo game, which supported Harry’s Sentebale charity, follows an exciting few weeks for the couple.
Page Six confirmed on Thursday that Markle and Harry’s Archewell Productions is working on two new series for Netflix, with whom they inked a lucrative deal in 2020.
