Meghan Markle is still reportedly waiting on a “grovelling apology” from the royal family before she agrees to accompany Prince Harry to the United Kingdom, casting doubt on whether the Duchess will join her husband in London in May.
Royal insider Tom Quinn believes the Duke of Sussex is fully onboard with a planned “reconciliation” with the monarchy four years after Harry and Meghan left for the United States, but the Duchess is not convinced.
“Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen,” he told The Mirror newspaper on Thursday.
“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening.”

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly wants an apology for perceived mistreatment by the monarchy, which included allegations the institution failed to support her mental health and that senior members of the royal family inquired about Prince Archie’s skin colour.
Despite subsequently slamming the royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey and in the couple’s Netflix series, Meghan reportedly still feels she is owed an apology by the firm.
King Charles is believed to have corresponded with the Duchess of Sussex via letter after she aired the allegations about racial insensitivity in the monarchy, but she declined an invite to her father-in-law’s coronation last May.

The latest updates comes amid reports Harry is eager for his wife and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to accompany him to London so he can repair relations with the King and his only brother Prince William.
“Harry would love for Archie and Lilibet to have a better relationship with their cousins or even the children of some of his friends,” the source told the Daily Express earlier this week.
“He feels like they have been away from the UK for far too long and wants to start building a life here. Not full-time, but a second home they can visit regularly.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales are understood to still be deeply estranged from the Sussexes and reportedly did not trust the couple not to leak private information about Kate’s health to the media.
As a result, Meghan and Harry allegedly only learned about Kate’s cancer diagnosis a day before the Princess of Wales announced her health battle to the public on March 22.
