UVALDE, Texas – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a stop in Uvalde for a local event to support Uvalde families.
The event was hosted by KABOOM! which is one of the organizations that made a deep commitment to the community after the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary.

KABOOM!, The City of Uvalde and the Archewell Foundation partnered together shortly after the tragedy to create a park just four blocks away from the school. The community was able to give creative ideas for their dream playground with slides, swings, merry-go-rounds, and tetherballs.
At the time of the announcement then Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin released this statement.
“Uvalde has a long road ahead to recover, but this is a resilient and close-knit community,” shared Mayor Don McLaughlin. “Coming together to build the new playground at DeLeon Park has given community members a way to unite around something positive as they try to heal.

Prince Harry and Meghan were able to be there to support families like Layla Salazar’s. Salazar tragically was one of the victims killed among the 21 teachers and students.
