Prince Harry has made a big step in his decision to move to America after quitting the Royal Family, but he actually hinted at his plans month ago as he gave a rare interview

Prince Harry has made the emotional decision to change his country of residence on official documents, but it seems he actually hinted at his plans months ago.

The Duke of Sussex moved to America after stepping down from the Royal Family four years ago. Fans had hoped he would one day return to the UK, but it seems that’s not part of Harry’s plans as he switched his country of residence from the UK to the US.

The change was made on official documents filed in the UK relating to Travalyst, Harry’s sustainable travel initiative. While the move might come as a shock for some, Harry actually hinted at his decision months ago during an interview with Good Morning America.

During the chat, the Duke of Sussex opened up about the possibility of him becoming a US citizen and spilled all about his life away from the Royal Family. Harry said he has considered becoming a US citizen but did not confirm whether or when he would apply.

Host Will Reeve asked: “Do you feel American?” Harry responded: “Do I feel American? No… I don’t know how I feel.” The host then went on to ask Harry what would stop him from applying for American citizenship.

He replied: “I have no idea. I’m here standing next to these guys. The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly not something that is a priority for me right now.”

Harry has now filed a notice with Companies House related to his not-for-profit organisation Travalyst. When the project was first launched four years ago, Harry’s place of residence on Companies House was in the UK.

However, a filing on Monday stated his “new country/state usually resident” was the United States. The date of the change was backdated to June 29, 2023, one of the last days he and Meghan had access to their old UK home of Frogmore Cottage before they handed back the keys.

Last March, it was revealed King Charles had asked the Sussexes to vacate the property. A spokesperson for the couple said at the time: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
