Prince Harry was scheduled to return to the UK for the Invictus Games 10-Year Anniversary, but now it’s unclear if that will in fact happen because of Harry’s security concerns, it’s being reported.
Harry recently lost his legal battle to have police security when visiting the UK, and on top of that, the Invictus Games reception, which will take place at St Paul Cathedral in London, was mistakenly announced in advance, with the date and time appearing on the the church’s website.
Daily Express US spoke to Brittani Barger, royal journalist and co-founder of Royal News, who says of the upcoming event: “I think he needs to go.”
She adds: I don’t think him skipping that event is going to go down well, and I don’t think it’s respectful to all the soldiers.”
In regards to security issues, Ms Barger doesn’t think it’s an issue, saying: “They’re not just going to let anybody be around the church, anybody just walk into the church.”

Ms Barger sees this as a lose-lose, a loss for Harry and a loss for the soldiers it’s meant to celebrate and support in their recovery: “What he created is amazing for these wounded warriors to be included in and have their own type of Olympic games.”
It was confirmed on Wednesday, March 27 that Harry would return to the UK to appear at the event in-person and deliver a speech. At this point in time, there has been no official update to say otherwise, but there have been reports of Harry delivering his speech via video.
We asked Ms Barger about Harry relying on video messages at events, with the royal journalist staying:“There’s no substitute for actually being there, to actually shake hands with people, speak to them, have that one-on-one.”
“I think a video is better than nothing, but it doesn’t replace him actually being there.”

According to Ms Barger, it’s important for Harry to go to the forthcoming Invictus Games event for several reasons, because it’s close to his heart, he’s put a lot of work into it, and it would mean a lot to the soldiers.
“I won’t knock him for going, I won’t knock him for promoting the Invictus Games, I think it’s great that he created it, and those soldiers are getting that opportunity.”
