Prince Harry’s US residency move ‘staggering’ as Duke warned about American backlash
Prince Harry recently changed his official business records in the UK to state he now resides in the US – but it has infuriated one American commentator.
Americans react to Prince Harry signalling US is now his primary residence
Prince Harry’s change of residence to the US has been branded “staggering” by an American commentator, who warned he has fallen out of favour with many in the country.
The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle moved to Montecito, California in 2020 after stepping away as senior working members of the Royal Family.
Earlier this month, he updated his official business records in the UK to state he now resides in the US.
But Harry has come under attack from US commentator Lee Cohen over the change he has now made to his primary residency.
He told GB News: “It’s staggering that a prince of the blood has declared residence in another country, my country, and has no domicile in the land of his birth, and even has considered taking citizenship in a foreign country.

“If Harry felt disinclined to royal service, all he had to do was withdraw and keep a dignified, respectful silence out of respect for his family. Which is family, which is a part of a beloved thousand-year pillar of British society. It’s not any family.
“For financial gain, he launched unforgivable public attacks on them, published in his memoirs and accompanying interviews.
“That kind of behaviour isn’t appreciated on this side of the Atlantic anymore than it is on your side.”
Cohen also warned Harry’s criticisms of the Royal Family since moving to the US are “really not appreciated” by Americans, who find it “intolerable”.

He added: “I have to make the caveat that not everyone, not all of my countrymen and women, feel this way. But those of us who don’t read the tabloid, supermarket press are a bit more discerning in this.
“On the one hand, Harry claims to still love his family dearly, as he said in interviews. But in his autobiography, he savages them mercilessly, so it’s really not appreciated. Some of us just find it intolerable.”
