Prince William and Kate Middleton send message to Team GB with Snoop Dogg as Olympics ends

Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared a video with Team GB after the Olympics in Paris ended today… alongside Snoop Dogg.

The royal couple were among those paying tribute to all the British athletes who took part in the Games over the past 19 days.

‘Well done TeamGB, what an incredible journey!’ the Prince and Princess of Wales said on their shared account on X.

‘Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud!

‘Here’s to celebrating every triumph at Paris 2024 and looking forward to more from ParalympicsGB later in the summer.’

The video starts with iconic US rapper Snoop Dogg saying ‘greetings loved ones’ before Kate says: ‘From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.’
William then adds: ‘Well done on all you’ve achieved, you’ve been an inspiration to us all.’

In a clip packed with a litany of stars sending messages of congratulations, it cuts to ex-footballer David Beckham.

‘Hey Team GB,’ Beckham says. ‘We are so proud of you. Congratulations.’

Other major celebs to feature in the montage were former Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington, BBC presenter Gabby Logan and six-time cycling gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy.

Other ex-Team GB stars Dame Kelly Holmes, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Colin Jackson also got in on the act.

Meanwhile, US athletics hero Michael Johnson even said: ‘Great job Team GB, you guys had a great championship. Not quite as good as us in the US, but well done.’

Snoop Dogg rounded off the video by saying: ‘Thank you Great Britain… on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife.’

It comes as Kate continues to battle cancer following her diagnosis four months ago.

Team GB’s excellent medal haul saw them end with 65 in total – 14 gold, 22 silver and 29 bronze.

Their efforts placed them seventh in the overall table, which is calculated by the most gold medals.
