Prince Harry is set to return to the UK, as he brings the Invictus Games back to its home nation for the first time since its inauguration.
Harry, who founded the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans, congratulated Birmingham as it was announced it would be hosting the games in 2027.
The duke will be returning to the UK for the games, but it is uncertain whether his wife, Meghan Markle, will be joining him.
It comes as the BBC presenter who interviewed the couple upon their engagement responded to claims from the duchess that it felt like a “orchestrated reality show”.
The comment was one in a string of bombshells revealed in the couple’s Netflix documterary series released in 2022.
The sit down Meghan was referring to was with BBC host Mishal Husain, who said she “didn’t know what to make” of the claim.
“When the Duchess of Sussex said that my engagement interview with her and Harry was an ‘orchestrated reality show’ I didn’t know what to make of it,” she wrote in the August issue of Saga magazine.

Royal author Omid Scobie has revealed racist comments and threats he received after his Meghan and Harry biography made headlines.
Published late last year, Scobie’s Endgame appeared to name two senior members of the royal family involved in a racism row in a Dutch version of the book.
It received mass press attention and he has now revealed that he and his family were subjected to threats as a result.
“Have I had to call the police over racist comments and threats to burn my house down? Absolutely,” he told Tatler.
“The publisher offered security for my parents because we’ve had a couple of unwanted visitors. I think the whole thing has spun out of control.”

The BBC presenter who interviewed Meghan and Harry upon their engagement has responded to claims that the sit down felt like a “orchestrated reality show”.
Mishal Husain was one of the unlikely figures caught in the crossfire of the couple’s 2022 Netflix documentary series, in which Meghan made the comment.
The BBC host has now said she “didn’t know what to make” of the claim as she revealed the couple seemed certain of their future.
“When the Duchess of Sussex said that my engagement interview with her and Harry was an ‘orchestrated reality show’ I didn’t know what to make of it,” she wrote in the August issue of Saga magazine.
“They seemed to have thought through what their new lives would be like and what marriage would mean for her life in particular.”
She added: “There was nothing that pointed to what would happen. It was two people who were full of joy in each other and life.”

The Duke of Sussex has congratulated Birmingham as it was announced the west-midlands city would host the games in 2027.
The UK government-backed £26 million proposal beat competition from Washington DC to stage the event at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in three years’ time.
Harry, who founded the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans, said Birmingham’s strong ties to the military community had made it a “formidable contender”.
A home turf competition now raises the question as to whether Harry’s father the King, brother the Prince of Wales and other members of the royal family will attend to support the event.
Charles and William backed Harry when he launched the major venture 10 years ago, joining him at the opening ceremony and later flanking him as they watched the athletics together in high spirits.
But much has changed in the years that followed, with Harry stepping down as a working royal with the Duchess of Sussex and moving to the US.

Birmingham has won the bid to host the Invictus Games in 2027, with the Duke of Sussex congratulating the city on its success.
The UK government-backed £26 million proposal saw off competition from US finalist Washington DC and the event will be staged at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in July in three years’ time.
Three new sports – pickleball, laser run and esports – are expected to feature in the 2027 Games.
Harry, who founded the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans, said Birmingham’s strong ties to the military community had made it a “formidable contender”.
It will be the first time the Games has come home to the UK since the duke staged the inaugural tournament in London in 2014.

The sweet interaction took place on the monarch’s recent trip to the Channel Islands, which was his first as king.
Kathleen Moriarty, 91, told Charles that she had always wanted to kiss a king when the pair met in Guernsey and he was happy to grant her wish.

A Samoan beach resort due to host the King in October is rushing to upgrade its outdated rooms ahead of the royal tour.
The four-star Samoan hotel, unnamed for security reasons, has been handed WST$300,000 (£85,000) in government funding to polish the premises ahead of the visit from King Charles, according to The Telegraph.
Buckingham Palace confirmed last week that His Majesty is set to stay on the Polynesian island during the autumn Commonwealth tour of Australia and Samoa.
It is believed the royal couple will stay in the presidential suite, with much of the funding intended to breathe life back into the room and improve the driveway.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took the opportunity to congratulate Princess Anne on her return to duty.
She returned to work last Friday after being hospitalised following a kick from a horse that left her with a concussion and minor injuries.
Taking to Twitter/X, the couple described the Princess Royal, 73, as a “super trooper” and added “so great to see you back so soon! W & C x”.
Anne is widely considered to be one of the hardest-working members of the royal family and has undertaken over 200 engagements this year.

Prince William and Princess Kate are on the hunt to hire a new private assistant to join their team.
As they are the Prince and Princess of Wales, until they become king and queen, they are looking for a new secretary to help them improve relations with the Welsh nation.
According to the job ad, their new assistant private secretary will organise the couple’s engagements within Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland and help maximise their impact “across constituent parts of the UK”.
They are looking for applicants who speak Welsh and bring a strong understanding of Wales’s communities, affairs, government and business.
‘Inspirational’ aid worker Simon Boas dies of cancer just hours before he was due to meet the King

An “inspirational” aid worker who wrote about dealing with his terminal cancer has died just hours before he was due to meet King Charles.
Simon Boas, executive director of Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA), was set to meet the King and Queen Camilla this week during their official visit to Jersey.
A statement from JOA’s chairman Carolyn Labey said Mr Boas, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in September, died peacefully in Jersey surrounded by his family, aged 47.
When his condition worsened just days before the royal visit, the King sent him a personal letter, telling him what an inspiration he had been.

Prince Harry was saved from further backlash over his controversial Pat Tillman award due to the focus moving to Donald Trump’s assassination attempt, a PR expert has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, was given the honour for his work with the Invictus Games, which celebrates the sporting achievements of wounded, sick or injured service people.
It is named after the late Pat Tillman, a former American footballer who gave up his career to serve in the US military in the wake of 9/11. He was subsequently killed in Afghanistan in 2004.
However, the Prince faced criticism after claims he is not deserving of the award, including from Mr Tillman’s mother, Mary.
Days later the media storm was curtailed as focus was diverted to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, according to PR expert Eric Schiffer, chair of Reputation Management Consultants.

King Charles III appeared to snap at an aide to help a struggling Queen Camilla as she attempted to put on her coat in heavy rain during the couple’s visit to Jersey on Monday, 15 July.
The monarch, 75, watched on as his wife, who turned 77 on Tuesday, tried to put her arm through an extra layer of clothing while holding a perspex umbrella.
Charles tried to help Camilla before looking visibly annoyed and gesturing for assistance from staff.
